The Franz & Wach branch in Berlin has now been in existence for a good 3 years. One of the first employees to be hired in Berlin was Daniel S. from Berlin-Reinickendorf. He is still employed by us today, as a nursing assistant with changing assignments throughout Berlin - and still enthusiastic about the job.
To mark three years with the company, HR consultant Melanie Koyro presented him with shopping vouchers and a small box of chocolates. But we also took the opportunity to talk to Mr. S. about his experiences as a temporary care worker.
Already since 2006 the trained painter and varnisher as Care assistant active. An allergy to paints forced him to change his career. He has absolutely no regrets that he chose to work in the care of the elderly. Although the daily routine is already very strenuous. "But the gratitude of the people cared for, is a wonderful gift and gives one a deep sense of satisfaction. Even if it often only expresses itself in a small smile," Daniel S. reports about his motivation.
In his three years at Franz & Wach, he has become acquainted with more care operations than in the years before. This is due to the changing assignments. For example, he works weekly in two to three different facilities all over Berlin. Isn't that annoying, constantly working somewhere else? "No, not at all. On the contrary, I like having to deal with other people all the time. And then you always run into familiar faces, i.e. colleagues, with whom you then share the shift. That's always nice, too."
Daniel S. also regularly receives offers of employment from the facilities where he is deployed. "Often on the second day of work. Then I always say that I have to get to know the facility first after all." But actually a Takeover not an issue for him at all. "Financially, it doesn't make a difference today if I'm employed through temporary help or if I'm a regular employee at a facility. In terms of working hours, however, I have a much better time in temporary employment.especially since I am excellently looked after by Franz & Wach. I simply send Ms. Koyro the dates on which I would like to have time off, and she then plans my assignments around these dates. No other employer would give that much consideration to my family life when it came to rosters."
Melanie Koyro, who has been Daniel S.'s HR consultant for years and plans his assignments, is full of praise for her colleague. "Daniel S. is a real ray of sunshine. You can tell that nursing is much more than just a job for him. He brings so much joy to this job and to people that you can send him anywhere with a clear conscience. And because of his diverse experience, he is also a good scout for us. So I like to send him to new customers that we don't know yet. We can always rely on his judgment and thus quickly get a picture of what working conditions are like at the facility. Of course, Mr. S.'s colleagues also benefit from this, because it is important for us to send people to places where the working conditions are suitable for them.
And what's next for Daniel S.? Initially, he wants to continue working as a nursing assistant. Sooner or later, however, he would like to Take the exam in nursing in order to then be able to take on further responsibility and other tasks as a specialist. Franz & Wach will be happy to accompany him on these paths as well, true to our mission statement: We enable people and companies to develop.
