At a charity soccer tournament in Aalen on November 20, eight old men's teams showed top form. In the end, the FC Bayern Munich traditional team took home the challenge cup. But the real winners were the recipients of the donations, which were largely raised through an auction of jerseys.
Of course, there are many enthusiastic soccer players in the ranks of the Franz & Wach staff. One particularly enthusiastic and committed soccer player is our Key Account Manager Martin Oschmann from Berlin. He is not only the coach of Hertha BSC Berlin's senior team, but is also very committed to social projects.
At the 3rd Ü40 benefit indoor soccer tournament of the old men of VfR Aalen, which took place on November 20 in the Ulrich-Pfeifle-Halle Aalen, there was a very special premiere for him. There he played with a number of long-time companions, including for example Suat Türker (e.g. VfB Stuttgart) and Jürgen Haller (e.g. FC Augsburg) as team "Oschi & Friends" an.
In this tournament, everyone played against everyone else in the group stage. Among the opponents were, in addition to the already mentioned Bavaria also the traditional teams of the VfR Aalen, of the SSV Ulm, of the 1st FC Heidenheim and of the CfR Pforzheim. The fact that Oschi & Friends ultimately ended up in 6th place out of 9 was a clear respectable success. "The most important thing for us, however, was that the games remained fair and, above all, that the fundraising campaign was an outstanding success," said Martin "Oschi" Oschmann, summing up the tournament.
The centerpiece of the fundraiser was the auction of 9 team jerseys. The best result was achieved by a kit of Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard, which achieved the top price of 500 euros. The Oschi&Friends jersey with the Franz&Wach logo on the chest came in second. It went for also proud 350 euros over the auction table.
The donations collected will go to the Malteser Children and Youth Hospice Service in Aalen.
For Franz & Wach it is an honor to support Oschi & Friends in their mission. We would like to thank to all players and organizers for the joint effort! We are proud of you!
