F&W supports virtual charity run

From 1.9. to 3.10. the "Virtual Run for the Horaffenstadt" can be run.

Since the running events in Crailsheim were cancelled this year, there is now a fundraising run organized as a "Virtual Run". The initiative comes from Franz & Wach.

Many running events were cancelled this year due to the Corona pandemic. This situation has also affected Crailsheim. In the Horaffenstadt there were in the past year 2019 with a Company run, a City run and a Half marathon at the castle hill three runs at once, none of which could be held as a proper running event in 2020. For many runners, this meant the loss of an important motivation, because there were no longer these fixed points in the running year at which one could prove one's own performance.

This was of course also the case for the Runners among Franz & Wach colleagues. Two of them, Ralf Eisenbeiß and Joachim Rothenberger, meet regularly with others on Saturdays for a run of ten to fifteen kilometers. From mid-March and into June, even that was no longer possible because the Corona ordinance prohibited such running meetings. However, the group kept motivated via virtual comparisons by choosing a route and then sharing and comparing the individual results that the runners achieved on this route via digital apps. So the idea was born to offer this also for a larger running community and then to combine it with a good cause.

The idea was first shared in the running group and then also with the organizers of the other running events. Quickly decided the Support Association Athletics Crailsheim e.V., to act as organizer. Thus, one could also fall back on contacts to service providers, who could then ensure the result lists of the individual times taken. It was decided to organize a charity run. The donations collected with the run are to benefit the following organizations in equal parts:

In the past weeks, everything was then prepared for this project. A homepage, an Instagram channel and a Facebook page were developed, permits were obtained, donations and prizes for a raffle were collected. This week, the start-finish gate has now been erected, in the immediate vicinity of the Franz & Wach company headquarters in Rotebachring in Crailsheim.

The extraordinary thing about this "Virtual Run", of which there are now many, is the possibility to run a marked route. As with any virtual run, you can freely choose the day and time of the run. You then send the organizer your running data and perhaps a picture for Instagram, and you're entered into the draw.

Franz & Wach supports the Crailsheim Virtual Run with Manpower in the organization and materially with various things from Posting about raffle prizes to the target banner. We believe that this project and the charitable organizations it supports are a good reason for companies to become socially involved again this year.
