Study by Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences shows what employees value about the temporary staffing industry

Internal employees of the personnel service show a high level of job satisfaction. In particular, the varied activities and working with people are perceived as positive. Participants recommend the temporary staffing industry as an ideal entry into professional life for future HR managers. This is the central statement of a survey entitled "Employee satisfaction among internal employees in temporary employment" conducted by students at the HAW Würzburg-Schweinfurt was carried out.

A project group from the International Human Resources major at the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences conducted a survey of internal employees in the temporary staffing industry in spring 2021. Many Franz & Wach employees also took part in the event. The study focused on job satisfaction in an industry whose image is sometimes perceived as negative even by employees. Nevertheless, the 217 participants in the study said they were satisfied with their day-to-day work and their job. The most frequently cited advantages include the varied activities (39 percent of participants), working with people (21 percent), the job itself (15 percent) and the good earning opportunities (9 percent).

The survey also asked what skills are necessary to work as a recruiter. "Flexibility, stress resistance and sensitivity are at the top of the list of requirements for mastering the challenges in this job" summarizes Lena Weinber summarizes the results. Nevertheless, employees feel comfortable in this demanding and varied area of responsibility, as the study shows. "There is no other industry where you can learn so much about human resources so quickly, which is why the temporary staffing industry promises to be an ideal entry point, especially for those just starting their careers in human resources management." sums up the head of the student project group, Pauline Weigand.

Also noteworthy is the High proportion of female managers in the personnel services sector. The study found that 51.7 percent of management positions are held by women. Equality between men and women in the world of work is thus already a reality in the temporary staffing industry, while other sectors are still finding it very difficult to achieve this.

The study was conducted by the industry associations BAP and iGZ, and from the Personnel service provider Franz & Wach supported. Managing Director Andreas Nusko sees the study as providing important impetus for personnel marketing in the industry: "Even if we have to contend with negative reports now and then, the image of the temporary staffing industry is changing more and more. And it offers employees not only a very varied and exciting range of tasks, but also the opportunity to help many people in their professional lives. This social component is very motivating and also deeply satisfying at the end of the working day. This is regularly reflected by our own employees, and the results of the study also show this. We need to focus our personnel marketing in the industry even more strongly on this."
